In this day and age and, more importantly, in this music industry, the term “longevity” is almost as archaic a term as “artist development” and “platinum.” But for ska-punk all stars Less Than Jake, they live and breathe all those terms, especially now as they embark on a whole new journey as independent artists. With their ninth album titled GNV FLA (coincidentally their first post-Warner Bros. release) for their own label Sleep It Off, LTJ are returning to their roots of what makes them the ska-punk icons that they are – the music. And it cant’ be any more appropriate than revolving it around the city that first birthed them, Gainesville, Florida.
